  • A working PC with Windows XP or later (may work with older versions, but not tested)
  • A storage device with at least 15 MB free (to be backed up)
  • Enough free space to back up the storage device plus 1% for backup metadata

Notes:

  • This is a portable application. To install, extract the contents of the Zip archive onto the root of your storage device.
  • To run BackupMyPocket, plug in the drive and select the BackupMyPocket AutoRun action
  • If AutoRun is disabled, open BackupMyPocket\BackupMyPocket_Windows.exe
  • Before starting the backup, check the paths are correct
  • The free version is limited to 500 MB backup sets. For unlimited backup size, you can purchase an upgrade key for $12.

Installation Instructions:

If you're comfortable working with .zip files, just extract the download straight onto your portable device then remove it and plug it back in. If not, please read the step-by-step instructions below prior to downloading. Don't worry - they're pretty straight forward. You can also find instructions on the vids page.

1. Download the zip file above and plug in your portable device

2. Right-click the zip file and select "Extract All..."

That's It! Just unplug your device and plug it back in to perform the first backup. Alternatively, open the BackupMyPocket\BackupMyPocket_Windows.exe file to perform a backup.

Uninstallation Instructions:

Delete the autorun.inf file and BackupMyPocket directory shown in the example.

Optionally, if it has been created, you may also wish to delete .BackupMyPocket.sig (it will be in the same place as autorun.inf). This is just a small, text file used by BackupMyPocket to warn users if they try to backup 2 or more devices to the same place.

That's it. No registry entries, no additional junk hidden in other places.
